Long Distance

As a whole Team America had a good race day today. We had four girls in the top 100, two boys in the top 100, and solid races from everyone else. I reached my goal of achieving a top 50 finish!

Some excitement from today:

Evalin fell waist deep into a marsh.

Isabel got passed by Sara Hagström near the end of her course, the woman who ended up winning the gold.

Melanie helped a Polish guy who was very lost.

Amanda was followed by a girl from Hong Kong.

Erin got very cold.

Young orienteers asked for our autographs! #famous

Even the Americans who didn’t have amazing races still had a great time in the woods. Who wouldn’t with this view?!
